Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Cyzicus: a city of the Propontis, situated on a peninsula. It was also called the island of Arkton; the ethnic is Cyzicenus, and in poetry Cyzicenis. Homer says that the inhabitants of Cyzicus are Doliones, just as he calls those who inhabit Ismarus Cicons. The possessive adjective Cyzicenic is also used; and they even employ the simple form Cyzicenus in place of a possessive, as in the phrase “Tyrrhenian bonds” instead of “Tyrrhenic,” i.e. harsh bonds, because the Tyrrhenians are pirates.
