Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Benna: one tribe of the five in Ephesos, whose tribesmen are Bennaioi, as Ephoros. That Androklos was the founder of Ephesos. "He died while aiding the Prienians, and many Ephesians with him. The Ephesians who were left then revolted against the sons of Androklos, and wishing to have help against them took colonists from Teos and Karene, from whom two of the five tribes in Ephesos have their names; for those in Benna Bennaioi, those in Euonymon of Attica Euonymoi. Those whom they found in Ephesos from the beginning they call Ephesians, but the later incomers they call Teians and Karenaians."
