Γάζος

Gazos: an Indian city, which fought against Dionysos with Deriades, and had a wall of linen, as [Dionysios] says in book 3 of his Bassarika:

Gereia and Rhodoe, and those who held linen-walled Gazos;

such was the wall of spun flax that enclosed it all around,

unyielding to enemies, even if they were all of bronze.

Its breadth was indeed measurable right through by four fathoms,

but its length, in a straight line, was as much as a man covers in two days,

hastening from dawn to deepest darkness on his own feet.

The ethnonym is 'Gazios'.
