Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Gerasa: a city of Koile Syria, of the Dekapolis. From it Ariston, an elegant rhetor, as Philon, and Kerykos the sophist and Platon the legal rhetor, reciting every branch of learning as if it were one, and in advocacy and assessorships and judicial seats practising the correctness of the laws. The ethnonym Gerasenos, as Medaba Medabenos.
