Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Getia: the land of the Getai. For Getes is the ethnic, not the proper name. It is a Thracian people. There is also the feminine Getis; for so the wife of Philip son of Amyntas was called. And possessively is said Getikos, from which the Getika of Kriton, and feminine Getike. Customs of the Getai are to slaughter the wife over the husband and, when they send heralds, to play the kithara. Arrian calls them Getenoi.
