Χρυσαορίς, πόλις Καρίας, ἡ ὕστερον Ἰδριάς ὀνομασθεῖσα. Ἀπολλώνιος ἐν ἑβδόμῳ Καρικῶν “... καὶ πρώτη πόλις τῶν ὑπὸ Λυκίων κτισθεισῶν”. τὸ ἐθνικὸν Χρυσαορεύς, ὡς αὐτὸς ἐν αὐτοῖς “Ταυροπολῖται μὲν συνεμάχουν [καὶ Χρυσαορεῖς] καὶ Πλαρασεῖς”. ἔστι καὶ Χρυσαορεῖς δῆμος. Ἐπαφρόδιτος δὲ τὴν Καρίαν πᾶσαν Χρυσαορίδα λέγεσθαι.

Chrysaoris: Chrysaoris, a city of Caria, later named Idrias. Apollonius in the seventh book of Karika: "... and the first city of those founded by the Lycians". The ethnonym 'Chrysaoreus', as he himself in the same work: "the Tauropolitai fought as allies and the 'Plaraseis'". There is also a deme 'Chrysaoreis'. Epaphroditus that all Caria is called Chrysaoris.
