Φλάνων, πόλις καὶ λιμὴν περὶ τὴν Ἄψυρτον νῆσον. Ἀρτεμίδωρος ἐν ἐπιτομῇ τῶν ιαʹ “μετὰ δὲ τὴν Ἄλωον λιμήν ἐστι Φλάνων καὶ πόλις Φλάνων, καὶ πᾶς ὁ κόλπος οὗτος Φλανωνικὸς καλεῖται”. ἀπὸ οὖν τῆς γενικῆς Φλάνων Φλανωνίτης, ὡς Νάρβων Ναρβωνίτης.

Phlanon: Phlanon, a city and harbour around the island Apsyrtos. Artemidorus in the Epitome of the Eleven: "after Aloon there is the harbour Phlanon and the city Phlanon, and all this gulf is called Phlanonic". So from the genitive Phlanon 'Phlanonites', as 'Narbon' 'Narbonites'.
