Πελλήνη, πόλις Ἀχαΐας. λέγεται καὶ Πελλίνα ὡς Μιτυλίνα. ὁ πολίτης Πελληνεύς, τὸ θηλυκὸν Πελληνίς. σημειωτέον δὲ ὅτι Παλλήνη καὶ Πελλήνη ἑνὶ μόνῳ γράμματι διαφέρουσι· καὶ ἡ μὲν Πελλήνη δύο μόνα ἐθνικὰ ἔχει, τὸ εἰς « ευς » καὶ τὸ διὰ τοῦ « ιος », ἡ δὲ Παλλήνη διὰ τοῦ « α » τέσσαρα, Παλληνεύς Παλλήνιος Παλληναῖος Παλληνίτης.
