Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Rhaphaneia: a town in Syria. A citizen is a 'Ῥαφανεώτης'. Of ethnonyms ending in '-ωτης', most have ι before ω, 'Πηλιώτης', 'Φθιώτης'; rarely they have ε, and almost always because they have been contracted from ει, as in 'Ἡρακλεώτης'. So too 'Ῥαφανεώτης'.
