Τριφυλία, ἡ Ἦλις. λέγονται καὶ Τρίφυλοι παρὰ τὸ οἰκισθῆναι ἀπὸ τριῶν φυλῶν ἢ ἀπὸ τριῶν πυλῶν ἢ ἀπὸ Τριφύλης τῆς Κλυτίου μητρός. ὁ οἰκήτωρ Τριφύλιος, καὶ θηλυκὸν Τριφυλίς ὡς Παμφυλίς.

Triphylia: Triphylia, Elis. They are also called 'Triphyloi', from having been settled from three tribes, or from three gates, or from Triphyle the mother of Klytios. The inhabitant 'Triphylios', and feminine 'Triphylis', as 'Pamphylis'.
