Ἄδουλις, πόλις Αἰθιόπων. οἱ δὲ Πανὸς νῆσον αὐτὴν καλοῦσιν. καὶ τἀμοῦ βιβλία Ἄδουλι δίχα τοῦ « σ ». σφάλμα δέ ἐστιν. Ἄδουλις γὰρ ὀφείλει, ὡς Ἡρωδιανὸς ἐν τοῖς εἰς « λις » τῷ « ω » ... παραληγομένοις. ὁ πολίτης Ἀδουλίτης, ὡς Ἀξουμίτης. καὶ Ἀδουλιτικός τὸ κτητικόν.

Adoulis: a city of the Ethiopians. Some call it the island of Pan. And my books Adouli without the 's'. But it is an error. For it ought to be Adoulis, as Herodian among those in 'lis' with 'o'... in the penult. The citizen Adoulites, as 'Axoumites'. And the possessive Adoulitikos.
