Adria: a city, and beside it a gulf Adrias and a river likewise, as Hekataios. The land is good for cattle, so that they bear twice a year and bear twins, often even bearing three and four kids, some even five and more. And the hens lay twice a day, but in size are smaller than all birds. The citizen and the neighbour Adrianos as 'Asianos', and Adriates, from which the Adriatic sea, as from 'Pteleates' the Pteleatic wine.
