Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Aigyptos: both the land and the river. It was named from Aigyptos, as Charax: "being son of Belos and Aeria, also Potamitis, he reigned forty-three years". The ethnonym Aigyptios, as the iambic line has it: "clever indeed at weaving devices are the Egyptians". And 'to Egyptianize' is to act knavishly and deceitfully and insidiously. The feminine Aigyptia, and the Aigyption. The land was also called Mysra by the Phoenicians, and Aeria and Potamitis, and Aetia from a certain Indian Aetos. The ethnic, insofar as from analogy, Aetieus as 'Aerieus', but insofar as from native, Aetites. But it was also called Ogygia and Hermochymios and Black-soiled and Hephaistia. There is also another, Little Aigyptos.
