Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Halai: a town of Boiotia, Pausanias in the ninth. And the one bordering the Argolid is thus called Hale, oxytone. There is also another opposite Mases. And a city of Cilicia said in the plural, Halai. From this the Aleian plain. the ethnonym Haleus, from which Haleios. There is also Halikos the possessive of Cilicia, and Halike the land, and a place Halikon near Augusta, and a homonymous mountain.
