Anaktorion: a city of Akarnania, neuter, a colony of the Corinthians. Thucydides in the fourth. Masculine in Sophokles. The ethnonym Anaktorios and Anaktoria the land and Anaktorieus. Sophokles says with 'ei': "Anaktoreion, eponym of this land". And Eugenios, who before us adorned the schools in the imperial city, in his Collection of Words says it with the diphthong. But he seems to have met with an unpunctuated book; for we found it with the 'i'.
