Argilos: a city of Thrace, as Thucydides in the fifth and Favorinus in the Miscellanies: "Argilos, the city by the river Strymon. It was named because among the Thracians the mouse is called 'argilos', and as they were digging to lay the foundations a mouse was first seen". It is said in the feminine. The citizens Argilioi.
