Ἄριμα, ὄρη. Ὅμηρος “εἰν Ἀρίμοις ὅθι φασὶ Τυφωέος ἔμμεναι εὐνάς”. οἱ μὲν ἐν Κιλικίᾳ, οἱ δὲ ἐν Συρίᾳ, οἱ δὲ ἐν Πιθηκούσαις παρὰ Τυρρηνοῖς φασι γενέσθαι τὸν μῦθον. τὸ τοπικὸν Ἀριμαῖος. ἐκαλοῦντο καὶ Ἄριμοι.

Arima: mountains. Homer: "in Arima, where they say are the couches of Typhoeus". Some say the myth took place in Cilicia, others in Syria, others in Pithekoussai among the Tyrrhenians. The locative Arimaios. They were also called Arimoi.
