Harma: a city of Boiotia in the Tanagraian district. Pausanias in the ninth. It was named from the chariot of Amphiaraos. For here they say he fled with his chariot and was not given up to his pursuers by the inhabitants. There is also Harma of Attica near the called Phyle; this is a deme having a strong fort, bordering the Tanagraian district. It is also called Baths of Amphiaraos. The ethnonym Harmateus. There is also Harmata a city, plural, of India. The ethnonym the same, or by the custom of the land Harmatenos or Harmatites, as from 'herma' 'hermatites'.
