Ἀρμενία, χώρα πλησίον τῶν Περσῶν, ἀπὸ Ἀρμένου Ῥοδίου, ὡς Ἀντίπατρος ἐν τρίτῳ περὶ Ῥόδου. οἱ οἰκήτορες Ἀρμένιοι, ὡς Εὔδοξος πρώτῃ γῆς περιόδου “Ἀρμένιοι δὲ τὸ μὲν γένος ἐκ Φρυγίας καὶ τῇ φωνῇ πολλὰ φρυγίζουσι. παρέχονται δὲ λίθον τὴν γλύφουσαν καὶ τρυπῶσαν τὰς σφραγῖδας”. καὶ Ἀρμενία τὸ θηλυκὸν παρὰ Ξενοφῶντι. ἔστι καὶ Ἀρμένιον ὄρος περὶ τὴν ἀρχὴν τῆς Ὑρκανίας, ὡς Διονύσιος θοὴν ἀπερεύγεται ἄχνην, ἀρξάμενος τὸ πρῶτον ἀπ´ οὔρεος Ἀρμενίοιο.
