Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Artaia: a Persian land, which Perses the son of Perseus and Andromeda settled with cities, Hellanikos in the first of the Persika. The inhabitants Artaioi. And the Persians call 'artaioi' the men of old, as the Greeks call them heroes. Perhaps too from this, it seems to me, Artaxerxai and Artabazoi, as among the Egyptians Neilammones and Panapollones. Herodotos calls them Arteatai with 'e'. There is also Artaion teichos, a small town on the river Rhyndakos, as Krateros in the ninth On Decrees. The ethnonym Artaioteichites.
