Myrleia: a city of Bithynia, now Apameia. From Myrlos, leader of the Colophonians. Nikomedes surnamed Epiphanes, son of Prusias, named it Apameia after his mother Apama; but others from Myrleia the Amazon. A citizen is a 'Myrleanos', as Asklepiades the Myrleanos is recorded. Strabo, book 12, calls the region 'Myrleatis', perhaps from 'Myrleates'. There is also a Myrlean gulf.
