Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Orestai: a Molossian people. Hekataios in the Europe. Theagenes in the Makedonika says that, when Orestes was released from his madness, fleeing out of shame with Hermione he came to this land and had a son Orestes, under whose rule they were called Orestai; he himself, bitten by a viper, dies at a place in Arkadia called Oresteion. The feminine too is said Orestis and Orestias, likewise Theagenes Dionysios in the second of the Gigantias.
