Δημόνησος, περὶ Χαλκηδόνα νῆσος, ἀπὸ Δημονήσου τινός. ἔχει δ´ ὁ τόπος κυανοῦ μέταλλον καὶ χρυσοκόλλης. καὶ χρυσίον εὑρίσκεται τίμιον, ὀφθαλμῶν τε φάρμακόν ἐστιν. ὁ νησιώτης Δημονήσιος.

Dēmonēsos: an island in the vicinity of Chalkēdōn, named after someone called Dēmonēsos. The place contains a mine of “dark-blue ” and of chrysokolla. Gold too is found, of high value, and it is a remedy for the eyes. The islander: Dēmonēsios.
