Δικαιάρχεια, πόλις Ἰταλίας. ταύτην δέ φασι κεκλῆσθαι Ποτιόλους ἐν ᾗ τὸ συμπόσιον ὁ Ἡρωδιανὸς ἔγραψε. πότια δὲ τὰ φρέατα καλοῦσι Ῥωμαῖοι, ὀλῆρε δὲ τὸ ὄζειν· δυσώδη γὰρ τὰ φρέατα εἶχε. τὸ ἐθνικὸν Δικαιαρχεύς ἔδει. ἔστι δὲ καὶ Δικαιαρχείτης ὡς Ζελείτης.

Dicaearchia: a city of Italy. This, they say, was called Potioli, in which Herodian wrote the Symposium. The Romans call wells potia, and olēre means “to stink”; for it had foul-smelling wells. The ethnic should be Dicaearchus; there is also Dicaearchitēs, as Zeleitēs.
