Diomēdeia: a city of the Daunians, a foundation of Diomedes. There is also the island Diomēdeia, on which the herons, tame and flying up to people and diving into their laps—these, they say, are the companions of Diomedes who were there transformed into birds. There is also a Diomēdeia near Argyrippoi. The ethnic is Diomēdeus; but better Diomēdeios.
