Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Ainos: a city of Thrace, the one from it Ainios, and Ainothen the local adverb. Called Apsinthos. Strabo in the seventh: "at the mouth of the Hebros, which has two mouths, is the city Ainos, a foundation of Kymaians". It was so called because near Ossa there was the river Ainios and a homonymous village. Others from Ainos the brother of Gouneus. Second, there is also a city of Thessaly. Third, there is of the Ozolian Lokrians. Fourth, by Thapsakos and the Euphrates. Fifth, there is also an island lying beside Arabia Felix. The ethnonym Ainios, as 'Tenios'. For so it is recorded in the tables. Apollodoros says this one was named Poltymbria. There is also a place Ainos on the mainland opposite the Rhodians.
