Κυλλήνη

Kyllene: a mountain in Arkadia, nine [Olympic] stadia less eighty feet high, [according to Apollodoros]. Named after Kyllene, a Naiad nymph. ‘They say that on this mountain the blackbirds are white, and nowhere else at all, and that they utter varied cries; that they are hunted by moonlight, but if anyone should try by day, they are very hard to catch.’ There is also Kyllene, a harbour of the Eleians; the ethnonym is ‘Kylleneus’ and ‘Kyllenios’; and Hermes is called Kyllios by syncope of Kyllenios.
