Kyta: a Kolchian city, the homeland of Medeia. There is also another in Skythia. A citizen is a 'Kytaios', from which also 'Kytaieus': ‘you will behold the towers of Kytaieus Aietes'. Τhe feminine is 'Kytaiias', as well as 'Kytaia': Lykophron: ‘who came to Libystine Kytaia'. [The Libystinoi are a people who neighbour the Kolchians.] 'Kytaiis' is also said, from the form 'Kytaios'. Some say that there are two places called Kyta, both in Europe. There is also Kytaion, a city of Crete.
