Stephanos of Byzantium - Ethnika
Lyktos: a city of Crete, from Lyktos the son of Lykaon. Some call it Lyttos because it lies in a lofty place. For they call what is up and high 'lytton'. The ethnonym Lyktios, and feminine Lykteis.
